Sumatra: Harapan - The Indigenous People of Harapan Rainforest

The river is the home to many indigenous people. They live in harmony with the forest: collecting fruit, honey, forest products for rope, medicine etc.

Most live along the river banks as it provides food and a fast way to travel
Surprisingly many local people had satellite dishes and solar power, but their normal day to day activates include:
Tapping trees for rubber
Transporting the rubber in big blocks (see the white/yellow block between the man and his wife)
Fishing with nets
Fishing with poles
One of our boat drivers Pak Mouhamad has a successful fishing trip
We had fantastic fried fish for lunch

As well as being a functional location the river is totally beautiful as well (just a few river shots)
